Hoyt Glazer was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. Hoyt received a bachelor of arts from Columbia University and his law degree from Tulane Law School. Upon completion of law school, Hoyt moved back to his home state of West Virginia to work where he clerked at the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. He later practiced with several law firms in Charleston before moving to Huntington to become supervising attorney for Legal Aid of West Virginia. In 2015, Hoyt established his solo practice focusing on employment and  civil rights cases.
